Another obvious revelation.

Regulas called Geuse is a spirit.

Or.

His thoughts were "pretty cocky for some worthless spirit."

The Witch of Envy devoured the other Witches representing Seven Deadly Sins. Pandora is not one of them.

What are you implying? She's the Witch of Vainglory. She does not represent one of the Seven Deadly Sins but she's a witch nonetheless.

When one considers "Witch" I thought the implied meaning were of the Seven Deadly Sins. Thought it also makes sense as an umbrella term as well.

this episode was really awesome, since the one before ended with the showing of Regulus it was sure that the next would be a crazy one but re.zero can always exceed the expectations.

We got some intersting news:
-a part of the backstory of the sanctuary
-a bit of ralationship beetwen bishop of the witch cult
-Pandora, the new introduced witch of vanity who seems to be part of the witch cult
-probably emilia is or have the key of the seal
-and many other little things...

What really took me in these episode of emilia's past is for sure the character of Jeuss, when he first saw Emilia and cried like that, sooo genuinly and from the depth of is heart.

Btw I'm really intersted in the relationship beetwen Pack and mother Fortuna, in todays episode when she said goodbye too Emilia, and then she call her "Lia" I just felt Pack there, and that promise... well we'll see next week

Seems like Pandora's ability is to rewrite reality into her own version of it, much like Naruto's Izanagi.

Witch of "Vanity" is peculiar.
How is she related to the original 7 witch of sins?

Don't tell me you have become such a cynic! I still believe in the artistry of this show and story, and I've even feeling a little empathy to Petelgeuse as hard as it may seem seeing his origin story and how its been corrupted by the witches.

I apologize for the misunderstanding. I liked the episode and don't mind the extra length with no OP/ED. I was just attempting to weave some humor into the post while noting that they could have fit them into the episode if they wanted to, but they chose not to for specific reasons. Sorry if I missed the mark. Good storytelling and memorable moments trump OP/ED any day.

I feel like the backstory is kinda meh. Like, when it gets revealed what's actually going on, these episodes will probably hit deeper. So far I seriously don't know why I should feel for any of the characters in this flashback. We obviously have some evil cultists and seemingly peaceful elves, but without any context or worldbuilding it feels rather bland

Pandora omitting Regulas from existence was the most unsettling moment I have since the Satella "Aishiteru" scene.

Now, we have Satella ASMR hand-in-hand with Pandora ear-deafening silence.

Great ep. Regulus is so much funnier than Geuse. When you realize the same voice actors and actress of Geuse and Fortuna shared the same universe as Kirito and Asuna made me goosebumps, I mean they are my most favourite hero couple of all time. Emillia is so stubborn as af and she went to the seal instead of running away. 5/5 for now.

Since i refuse to read the spoilers the Novel readers are too excited to hide, i will just let my genuine toughts here as anime-only at this point:

100 years ago:
- Who is Pandora? She seems to be the leader of the Witch Cult, but why Regulus tried to kill her without a second tought?

- So Geuse was already an Archbishop even before he uses the Witch Factor?

- Is Emilia the key right, WHY? Being the key is something you inherit from your Witch Mother? Who is her human/witch mother? Is that FLUGEL-sama Geuse is apologizing to?

And the other side plot:

400 years ago:
- Beatrice was already a detestable spirit or at that time she was a detestable human girl?

- Roswall, or Ancient Roswall, how the f* he stopped to age, is he the same or it is a clone?

- Was that before the Witch of Envy's mayhem right?

And back to present: Emilia should never become so crazy of guilty. COME ON, she was being chased by ABSURD strong enemies. She never had any chance to scape the fate of the Seal.

Betelgeuse, what developement he got in this episode!
To the point you kinda want to rewatch the last arc in first season again.

Also, ending boss material there, Kugimiya Rie. But how do you even fight someone who manipulates existence, reverting cause and effect on will?
Can Subaru even stand against Pandora in the future, even with his ability?

This is honestly worse than memory whale or those hungry rabbits. Completely on different level.

Okay, and now stop for a bit - why do you think Betelgeuse worshipped Satella with all his heart to the point he even build a cult around her?

The reason could be that be that Satella was effectively created when young Emila unlocked those doors! That would explained her look-alike, that would split her personality or rather create new witch from the scratch. That would also mean that Pandora is the mother of all witches and every witch was created by her. She just used Emilia to do so.
Kinda wonder what's Echidna to her.

Maybe it's just because I watched this high, but did Pandora just erase Bishop Corneas entirely from existence? Like what happened with Rem, but this time she didn't even leave behind a body, just Geuse's memories? Damn, she's powerful.

Also could Puck be actually Fortuna turned into a spirit? They say very similar stuff to each other.

I don't think so. The reason being is that Fortuna is voiced by Tomatsu Haruka and Puck is done by Uchiyama Yumi.
And japanese anime tend to honor the roles usually so I guess it's someone else completely.

But I just realized they fit in Matsuoka and Tomatsu together again, it's Kirito/Asuna all over again :D Kinda funny they lovers here too :))

I thought it, but actually no, saying "In the name of..." she could be talking of someone else.

But it is irrelevant btw. I'm calling her Evil Little Echidna of the Witch Cult.

One way or another, we got a new information: "Wtf, there are lots of Titles of Witches so, beyond the 7 deadly sins"

And the Novel readers are too excited. Chill out and use spoiler tags, guys.

Another great episode produced by White Fox.
Geuse was a brave and kind man who can sacrifice his own life for who he loves. How he turn to the most annoying character after one hundred years? I think it's Pandora caused that.
It's too sad when hearing Emilia putting all this tragedy to her own mistake. It's not your fault Emilia,no one hates you and all the world exists to bless you.

I've said this before, but takahashi rie... she's too powerful. Somehow, she's made me feel too many things at once.

i think emilia's past was only ~100 years ago, and the witches were killed 400 years ago so the timeline doesn't match. Puck also once said that no one in the mansion except Beatrice is older than him, so i dont think Pandora is that big but damn she's so overpowered.

What I think is Pandora isn't a witch, but she's the founder of the witch cult to revive Satella or something, so i guess Emilia really does have a connection with the witches.

btw i'm an anime-only so these are only speculations. We need to know a lot of what happened 400 years ago to clearly understand everyone's motives. man, this is soooooo good

I mean, the world building revelations and hints have been crazy interesting if you care about that. Fortuna is a key part of Emilias life, and she’s the main heroin. And most people, myself included, love getting that geuse. He’s not only interesting himself, but he really hints towards a lot of mysteries with all of his actions and dialogues.

This is this best episode so far this season IMO, I get the feeling Pandora is more twisted in the head than Regulus Corneas. It really surprised me though that Regulus turned Pandora into blood mist, came out of nowhere. Not to mention we have another basically immortal character (Pandora), to go along with Regulus and Reinhard. 10/10 episode

It's limited to Emilia's POV though, so that's just how it is in narrative-wise. What matters is that those characters "you don't give a shit" shows so much serious expression.

[*]Flugel (the Sage who sealed the Witch of Envy) gave the Witch Factor of Sloth to Petelgeuse for The most OP character in Re:Zero is Reinhard :-)

oh, nice reminder that Flugel is the Sage. is it just me, or the anime deliberately left many mention or detail regarding the sage for the time being? despite a key figure of the past just like Satella, i doubt many anime-only remember the sage.

also CMIIW, the only one who actually got Plot armor in this series is Reinhard, not even Subaru right?
